TOHO Teases Street Fighter 6 and Spy x Family Collab
CAPCOM's Chisato Mita draws a collaboration image shared via Twitter
During the Anime Expo event, TOHO Animation made an exciting announcement regarding a collaboration between CAPCOM's Street Fighter 6 game and the upcoming Gekijōban SPY×FAMILY Code: White anime film. This collaboration merges the popular Street Fighter game franchise with the highly anticipated anime film.
Scheduled for release on December 22nd, the Code: White film will showcase original artwork by CAPCOM's Chisato Mita. The film's development involves the original manga creator, Tatsuya Endō, who is credited with the original work and character designs and overseeing the production. The animation duties for the film will be handled by WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks, renowned for their expertise in the field. Takashi Katagiri will direct the movie, with Ichiro Okouchi as the scriptwriter. The character design is entrusted to Kazuaki Shimada, supported by Kana Ishida as the sub-character designer. Kyoji Asano takes on the role of chief animation director, and Kazuhiro Furuhashi acts as the animation supervisor. [K]NoW_NAME will produce the film's music, while Shōji Hata will serve as the sound director.
Fans will be looking forward to the anime series' second season, which is slated for an October premiere. The first half of the first season was initially aired in April 2022 and was made available for streaming on Crunchyroll, including an English dub. Subsequently, the first season's second half premiered in Japan in October 2022, and Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired. Tatsuya Endō's original manga is published in English by Viz Media.
In related news, Street Fighter 6 was released on June 2nd for multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Furthermore, the game has also announced a collaboration with the Exoprimal game.
