The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes Film Revealed in Teaser Trailer!

A special event for the anime adaptation of Daisuke Aizawa's light novel series "The Eminence in Shadow" (also known as "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!") revealed a teaser video for the upcoming film "The Eminence in Shadow - Lost Echoes" (Japanese title: "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!: Zankyō-hen") on Sunday.

The teaser video gave fans a glimpse of what to expect from the film, which is based on the television anime series.

About the Anime

The first season of "The Eminence in Shadow" anime premiered in October 2022 and concluded in February 2023. Following its success, a second season began airing on October 4, 2023, starting on the AT-X network before being broadcast on other networks. This season wrapped up with its 12th and final episode on December 20, 2023. 

For international audiences, HIDIVE streamed the anime with a same-day English dub as it aired in Japan. Additionally, HIDIVE and Kadokawa hosted a world premiere screening of the anime at Anime Expo on July 1, 2022.

Production Team

The anime is produced by Nexus, the studio also known for "Darwin's Game" and "Granbelm." Kazuya Nakanishi, who previously served as the chief animation director for "Darwin's Game," directed the anime. Makoto Iino adapted the original character designs by Tōzai for animation. The series scripts were overseen by Kanichi Katou, known for his work on "Black Clover" and "Those Snow White Notes." The music for the series was composed by Kenichiro Suehiro.

Yen Press has licensed both the light novels and the manga adaptation of "The Eminence in Shadow." The story first appeared online when Aizawa began serializing it on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website in May 2018. Kadokawa started publishing the story in physical book form with illustrations by Tōzai, beginning with the first volume in November 2018.

Anri Sakano launched a manga adaptation of the series in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in December 2018. Additionally, Seta U launched a spinoff manga titled "The Eminence in Shadow - Shadow Side Story" (Japanese title: "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Shadow Gaiden") in Comp Ace in July 2019. This spinoff expands on the original story, providing more adventures and perspectives within the same universe.
