The Dangers in My Heart Manga Leaps to Light Novel!

On Tuesday, publisher MF Bunko announced that Norio Sakurai's hit manga The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) will be receiving a light novel adaptation. Scheduled for release on September 25, this new light novel will be penned by Kota Nozomi, known for his work on When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace, and will feature illustrations by Sakurai himself alongside sune. Pre-orders for the novel are already open, and fans are eagerly anticipating its release.

What to Expect from the Light Novel?

The light novel will explore four distinct stories that delve deeper into the Dangers in My Heart universe. The first story revisits a rare card that the protagonist, Ichikawa Kyotaro, received as an elementary school student, alongside a mysterious woman he encountered at that time. This narrative promises to shed light on a significant yet previously unexplored part of Ichikawa's past.

The second story shifts focus to Ichikawa and Anna Yamada’s relationship, but this time from the perspective of Moeko, a character whose viewpoint will offer fresh insights into their dynamic. The third story continues the exploration of Ichikawa and Yamada’s relationship by following up on their double date, providing readers with more depth and detail about their interactions.

The fourth story is a new revelation involving Yamada’s mother, adding another layer of intrigue and emotional complexity to the narrative. Additionally, the publisher has hinted at a possible story set ten years into the future, which could potentially expand the scope of the series and offer a glimpse into the characters' lives down the line.

Norio Sakurai initially launched The Dangers in My Heart manga in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in March 2018. The manga later transitioned to Akita Shoten's Champion Cross manga website in April 2018, and with the merger of Champion Cross and Champion Tap! into Manga Cross in July 2018, it continued its run on the new platform. As of April 8, the manga’s 10th compiled book volume was published, with the eighth volume released by Seven Seas Entertainment on April 23.

This light novel adaptation marks a significant expansion of The Dangers in My Heart universe, offering fans both new content and deeper exploration of beloved characters.
