Spy x Family Studio Brings Hololive’s Ambitious New Project to Life
A big new project is happening at Hololive, the world’s most popular VTuber agency. Wit Studio, the famous animation studio behind Spy x Family and the early seasons of Attack on Titan, created a beautiful anime preview for Hololive’s upcoming video game called Holoearth.
The preview shows a story where a normal, bored girl gets transported to a magical fantasy world. In this new world, she becomes a "Pathfinder" and is joined by a helpful robot and a mysterious digital girl who feels just like the virtual girls from Hololive. It's a colorful and exciting start to what Hololive hopes will be a huge success.
What is Holoearth?
Holoearth is Hololive’s big move into the Metaverse. It's an open-world game where players can create their own characters (avatars) and customize how they look. Players can hang out with others, attend special events, and even watch live concerts from popular Hololive talents. The game focuses a lot on observation — meaning, the world inside Holoearth changes and grows because players are there to experience it.
Unlike many other Metaverse projects, Holoearth uses Hololive’s strong connection with fans to make the world feel alive. Players aren't just playing a game; they are living in a shared world with their favorite VTubers.
The Progress So Far
Even though Holoearth is already available for download, it's still being developed. A big update on April 24, 2025, made the game even better by adding more tools for players to create and customize their avatars. Future updates will bring in survival and crafting features, similar to what you’d find in games like Minecraft — a game many Hololive members love to play.
Hololive’s Big Moments in Holoearth
Hololive has already used Holoearth for some exciting events. For example, Mori Calliope and AZKi held the first-ever live concert inside Holoearth in December 2022. Another big concert happened in July 2023 with Hololive stars like Shirakami Fubuki and Sakura Miko.
Hololive talents are also shining outside of Holoearth. In February 2025, after a big Minecraft event, streamers like Usada Pekora, Sakura Miko, and newcomer Kikirara Vivi became some of the most-watched VTubers in the world. Pekora even got nominated for Content Creator of the Year at The Game Awards 2024!
Hololive’s future with Holoearth looks very bright, and thanks to Wit Studio’s amazing preview, fans are more excited than ever.
