The series is set in a world where "gates" connecting to other dimensions have opened, leading to the rise of "hunters"—humans with supernatural powers. The story follows Jinwoo Sung, initially known as the weakest hunter, who embarks on a journey to become the strongest after a life-threatening encounter in a hidden dungeon.
Production and Music
Solo Leveling Season 2 continues to be produced by A-1 Pictures, with Shunsuke Nakashige directing and Noboru Kimura as the head writer. The character designs are handled by Tomoko Sudo, while Hiroyuki Sawano, renowned for his work on Attack on Titan and Blue Exorcist, composes the music. The opening theme song, "LEveL," is performed by TOMORROW X TOGETHER, in collaboration with Sawano.
Manhwa Origins and Global Popularity
The original manhwa, based on Chugong's novel series, launched on Webtoon in March 2018 and concluded in December 2021.
It quickly gained a massive following worldwide. Yen Press publishes both the manhwa and the original novel series in English, while Kadokawa releases the manhwa in Japan under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken (I'm the Only One Who Has Leveled Up).
The anime adaptation has been highly praised for bringing the intense and dynamic story to life, and the upcoming season is expected to further elevate its global appeal.
