The anime adaptation of Solo Leveling is scheduled to premiere in the upcoming winter season. Crunchyroll announced the anime series during its Anime Expo industry panel in July 2022. Crunchyroll has provided the following synopsis for the storyline:
More than a decade has passed since the unexpected emergence of "gates," which connect our world and an alternate dimension. Specific individuals, known as "hunters," have awakened supernatural abilities during this time. Among them is Jinwoo Sung, a low-ranked hunter often called "the weakest hunter of all mankind." After a life-threatening encounter with high-rank double dungeons concealed within a low-rank dungeon leaves Jinwoo gravely injured, he is confronted with a mysterious quest that materializes before him. On the brink of death, Jinwoo accepts the search, embarking on a journey of self-improvement, while others remain unaware.
The anime series is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige, recognized for their work on "Mother of the Goddess' Dormitory," and features Noboru Kimura as the head writer. Tomoko Sudo is responsible for character design, and the renowned Hiroyuki Sawano is composing the music. Crunchyroll has secured the streaming rights for the anime outside of Asia.
Chugong's Solo Leveling manhwa, which features DUBU illustrations, originally debuted on Webtoon services in March 2018 and concluded in December 2021. Yen Press publishes both the manhwa and the original novel series in English. In Japan, Kadokawa publishes the manhwa under the title "Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken" (I'm the Only One Who Has Leveled Up), with the 13th volume released on June 22.
