Shueisha Celebrates Jujutsu Kaisen's Manga Circulation With Live-Action Video
Over 80 million copies of the popular manga are in circulation
Shueisha has announced that Gege Akutami's manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen, will achieve a total circulation of 80 million copies with the upcoming release of its 23rd volume on July 4th. This circulation number encompasses physical and digital copies, and it is worth noting that not all of these copies have been sold.
To commemorate this significant milestone, a special live-action "special video" will be aired on MBS and TBS on July 5th, during the commercial breaks for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film. Shueisha will unveil an extended version of the live-action video on the franchise's Twitter account and the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine's YouTube channel.

Early October 2020: 8.5 million copies
October 29th, 2020: 10 million copies
December 16th, 2020: 15 million copies

Akutami initially launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. Viz Media simultaneously published the first three chapters of the manga in English and released it in Japan as part of their Jump Start initiative. Following Viz's transition to the new Shonen Jump model in December 2018, they began digitally publishing new chapters. Shueisha also publishes manga on its MANGA Plus service.
The Jujutsu Kaisen anime series premiered in October 2020, consisting of 24 episodes. It has been confirmed that a second season of the anime will be released in 2023. In December 2021, a film titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in Japan based on Gege Akutami's manga prequel story titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School.
Lastly, the television anime is set to have a second season, scheduled to premiere on July 6th.
