"See You Tomorrow at the Food Court" Manga Set to Receive TV Anime Adaptation in 2025
Hakusensha recently announced that Tachibana Higuchi's Champignon no Majo (Champignon Witch) manga is getting a TV anime adaptation, set to debut in 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a special celebratory image of Luna, the manga's main character, wearing a mushroom hat.
The manga, which began serialization in October 2019 on Hakusensha’s Manga Park app, is a magic fantasy story. It revolves around Luna, a witch who lives in a mysterious black forest. Luna is known as the "Champignon Witch" because everywhere she goes, poisonous mushrooms grow in her wake. Despite her fearsome reputation, the story focuses on her personal journey, particularly her first experience with love and human warmth, something she had never known before.
The manga has been well-received by fans, and the sixth volume is set to be released on December 20, 2024. This news marks a big milestone for Champignon no Majo, as it will soon be adapted into an anime. Fans of the manga and Higuchi’s previous work are excited to see the magical world of Luna brought to life in animation.
Tachibana Higuchi is no stranger to creating popular manga. She is well-known for her long-running series Gakuen Alice, which ended in 2013. This series inspired a TV anime in 2004-2005, with 26 episodes, and was later released on DVD in North America by Right Stuf. Before Gakuen Alice, Higuchi had also worked on Portrait of M & N, which was partially published in English by Tokyopop.
Champignon no Majo adds to Higuchi’s legacy of crafting unique and engaging stories, combining fantasy elements with deep emotional themes. Fans of her previous works are eager to see how this new manga will translate into an anime series. The upcoming adaptation in 2025 is expected to attract a lot of attention, especially with the intriguing premise of Luna and her magical, mushroom-filled world.
