One Piece Anime Reveals Egghead Part 2 with a New Opening Theme!
The official One Piece website has released a brand-new video highlighting Part 2 of the Egghead arc. Along with this, the anime is getting a fresh opening theme song titled "Tenshi to Akuma" (Angels and Demons) by GRe4N BOYZ, formerly known as GReeeeN.
When Will Part 2 of the Egghead Arc Air?
The Egghead arc is finally continuing after a short break! The first episode of Part 2 (which is the 1,123rd episode overall) will premiere on April 5 at 9:00 p.m. JST (8:00 a.m. EDT) on Fuji TV. It will air alongside a special recap episode covering the events of Part 1.
The second episode (episode 1,124) will air the next day, April 6, but with a new timeslot at 11:15 p.m. JST (10:15 a.m. EDT).
For international fans, Crunchyroll will stream these episodes over the April 5-6 weekend in the following regions:
United States
Canada
Australia
New Zealand
South Africa
Latin America
Additionally, Crunchyroll will also release an 83-minute recap special covering all of Part 1 of the Egghead arc, making it easier for fans to catch up before Part 2 begins.
Why Did the Anime Take a Break?
Back in October 2024, it was announced that the One Piece anime would take a break to "recharge" before continuing in April 2025. During this break, the anime aired One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga, which is a 21-episode abridged version of the Fish-Man Island arc. This version features improved visuals, reshot scenes, and updated animation.
When the One Piece anime returns, it will no longer air in its usual Sunday morning slot. Instead, To Be Hero X will take its place on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. JST starting in April. One Piece will now air at a later timeslot on Saturdays.
Additionally, a major voice actor change has been announced—Subaru Kimura will be the new voice of Franky, taking over the role in upcoming episodes.
The Egghead Arc So Far
The Egghead arc first began airing in January 2024 and has been one of the most exciting storylines in recent years. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see what happens next as Luffy and the Straw Hats continue their adventure on Dr. Vegapunk’s futuristic island.
With the return of the anime, a new opening song, and a fresh timeslot, One Piece fans have plenty to look forward to in April 2025!
