About the Series
The Kunon the Sorcerer Can See series, written by Umikaze Minamino with illustrations by Laruha, began in March 2022 and has already gained a strong following. Published by Kadokawa, the light novel currently has six volumes. Its manga adaptation, illustrated by La-na, is serialized in Monthly Comic Alive and has released five volumes so far.
For English-speaking fans, Yen Press publishes the official English translation of the novels. They describe the story as follows:
Kunon, a blind but genius sorcerer, has achieved incredible things despite his disability. He’s earned the rare honor of being a member of three factions in his magic school, thanks to his unmatched talent. Kunon doesn’t just stop there—he dives into groundbreaking research with his seniors. One experiment leads him underwater to hunt for sunken treasure, where he uncovers something even more valuable than gold or jewels. As Kunon continues his magical journey, he uncovers mysteries and shatters expectations with his brilliance.
What Makes Kunon Special?
One of the series’ most interesting aspects is Kunon’s unique perspective as a blind protagonist in a magical world. Despite his inability to see, his talent and determination push him to overcome challenges that others wouldn’t dare face. This blend of mystery, magic, and adventure makes Kunon the Sorcerer Can See stand out from other fantasy stories.
Fans of the light novel and manga are thrilled about the anime adaptation, and with its intriguing premise and strong fan base, it’s already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated anime projects.
