IDOLiSH7 Anime Concert Earns Over $5 Million in 22 Days
The official Twitter account of Gekijо̄ban IDOLiSH7 LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD, the theatrical anime concert associated with the IDOLiSH7 franchise, announced the film's impressive financial performance and ticket sales on Saturday. In just 22 days of being shown in theaters, the movie has surpassed 700 million yen in earnings (equivalent to roughly US$5.02 million) and has sold 440,000 tickets. This significant achievement coincided with the franchise's eighth anniversary on June 10.
The theatrical anime concert premiered in Japan on May 20, garnering 220 million yen (approximately US$1.58 million) during its opening weekend.
The film features the original 16 cast members from the IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, Re: vale, and ŹOOĻ units, reprising their roles from the anime series and games. The screenings offer two distinct variations, each with different setlists. The first version, labeled "Day 1," premiered on May 20, followed by the "Day 2" version on May 21. Starting from May 22, audiences could choose which version they preferred to watch. Furthermore, the film will be shown in Japan in 4DX, MX4D, and Dolby Cinema formats starting June 24.
The anime was directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori (known for Argonavis from BanG Dream!) and Kensuke Yamamoto (VFX art director for Trigun Stampede). Bunta Tsushimi, the creator of IDOLiSH7, wrote the screenplay. Arina Tanemura (previously involved in IDOLiSH7 and Full Moon o Sagashite) is credited as the original character designer, while Hitomi Miyazaki handled the character designs. Eiji Inomoto was the CG chief director, leveraging his expertise from Trigun Stampede.
