Haikyu!! Confirms Animation of Timeskip Arc, Fans Rejoice
Fans of the anime "Haikyu!!" have exciting news to celebrate. The team behind the show has confirmed that the much-anticipated timeskip arc will be animated before the series concludes. This announcement was made during a special panel at Anime Expo 2024, featuring Production I.G., WIT Studio, and Signal MD.
Haikyu Movies
"Haikyu!!" is currently working on a set of movies that will wrap up the anime. The first film, "Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle," focuses on the Nationals match between Karasuno and Nekoma. Fans were curious if the next film would continue with Karasuno’s match against Kamomedai, which is the next major event in the story.
During the panel, a fan asked if the timeskip arc would be animated. Through a translator, the panelists teased that "everything will be animated" regarding this part of the story. While they didn’t go into much detail, this hints that the final chapters of "Haikyu!!" will be fully adapted.
Haikyu Time-Skip
For those who don’t know, the timeskip in "Haikyu!!" starts after Karasuno’s last match and begins with Chapter 370 of the original manga by Haruichi Furudate. This arc shows what Shoto Hinata and other characters are up to after graduating from Karasuno High School. It’s an important part of the story that fans were hoping to see animated.
The post-credits scene of "Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle" sets the stage for the match between Karasuno and Kamomedai, suggesting that the final film could cover this match. However, there are several more matches in the manga that need to be animated to complete the story fully.
"Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle" hasn’t announced a digital or streaming release yet, but fans can catch up on the first four seasons of the TV anime on Crunchyroll.
