Exciting New Cast and Release Date Revealed for Upcoming "Make a Girl" Anime Film!
Kadokawa recently unveiled a new teaser trailer and visual for the highly anticipated 3D anime feature film, Make a Girl, created by renowned 3D anime artist Genshō Yasuda. The film is scheduled for release on January 31, 2025. This announcement provides fans with fresh insights into the project, including details on the film’s production and background.
Make a Girl is Yasuda's debut feature-length film, and it builds upon the success of his previous 3D short, Make Love. Yasuda, who is both conceiving and directing the film at his Yasuda Gensho Studio by Xenotoon, is deeply involved in every aspect of its creation. His role extends beyond directing to include scripting, storyboarding, technical direction, and CG direction, ensuring a cohesive and personal touch to the film’s development.
Make a Girl Story Overview
The story follows Akira Mizutamari, a high school student who invents an "artificial girlfriend" named Number 0. This character, central to the film, reflects Yasuda's innovative approach to blending technology with emotional storytelling. The film explores themes of companionship and artificial intelligence, set in a vibrant 3D anime world.
Production
The production is a collaboration with Xenotoon, a 3D CG studio known for its high-quality visual effects. This partnership aims to bring Yasuda's creative vision to life with cutting-edge animation techniques.
In addition to Yasuda's extensive involvement, the film's sound direction is being managed by Yuichi Imaizumi at Sonilude, with Tsutomu Ueno responsible for sound effects. The musical score, an essential element for setting the film’s tone and atmosphere, is being composed by Kenichiro Suehiro. Suehiro's work on notable series such as Cells at Work!, The Eminence in Shadow, Goblin Slayer, and Re
-Starting Life in Another World- ensures a compelling and emotionally resonant soundtrack.
Yasuda Studio History
Make a Girl originated from Yasuda’s successful crowdfunding campaign on Campfire, launched on August 26, 2022. The campaign aimed to raise 10 million yen (approximately $67,000) but ended with a total of 23,730,805 yen (around $160,000) by October 31, 2022. This overwhelming support highlights the strong interest and backing from fans, fueling the project’s journey to the big screen.
Yasuda’s studio, Yasuda Gensho Studio, was founded in 2021 after his tenure as a CG animator for Nitroplus. His independent short animations, created using Blender, have garnered significant attention on social media platforms like Twitter and TikTok, accumulating a combined following of 5.8 million.
