Digimon Manga Hub: Manga in Japanese & English Coming Soon!
The Digimon franchise recently announced plans to launch a web manga platform on its main website, offering manga content in both English and Japanese. This initiative was revealed during the Digimon Con 2024 livestream event.
The platform is set to debut with its first "digital issue" in the summer of 2024, featuring a new Digimon manga by acclaimed author Tenya Yabuno, known for their work on the Digimon Dreamers series.
The upcoming manga release by Tenya Yabuno will be available in both English and Japanese, marking a significant effort to cater to a wider international audience. Additionally, the platform will feature manga titles that have won the "Digimon Comic Award," along with other selected works.
Furthermore, the Digimon franchise is expanding its creative avenues by launching a new "Digimon Novel Competition." This competition will accept submissions from mid-March to mid-June, with winning entries also slated for release on the web manga platform.
Tenya Yabuno's previous work, Digimon Dreamers, concluded on March 4, and its second volume is scheduled for release on April 4. Digimon Dreamers, serialized in Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine since October 2021, is based on the original story by Akiyoshi Hongo. Bandai began publishing the comic with an English translation by MediBang in 2023, and Shueisha released the first volume in December 2022.
The Digimon web manga platform launch is great news for fans, offering fresh manga and encouraging creativity through initiatives like the novel competition.
