The highly anticipated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc movie trilogy has been confirmed for release starting in 2025. Renowned animation studio Ufotable will once again handle the production, ensuring the same high-quality visuals and storytelling that fans have come to love.
The announcement of the movie trilogy came right after the conclusion of the Hashira Training Arc in June 2024. A special teaser visual for the first movie has been released, and a new teaser trailer has also been shared, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come. The first installment of the trilogy will debut worldwide in 2025, with Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment handling the global release, including Japan (except for select Asian markets).
Release Date and Teaser
To make the announcement even more exciting, the release date and teaser were revealed during a special live stream. The stream featured cosplayers dressed as Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira. For 15 minutes, they entertained fans without uttering a word before unveiling the hidden teaser visual and release date. Simultaneously, a similar event took place at the CCXP24 convention in São Paulo, Brazil, featuring voice actors Takahiro Sakurai (Giyu Tomioka), Kengo Kawanishi (Muichiro Tokito), and Daniel Figueira (Portuguese voice of Tanjiro). They discussed the anime and premiered the new trailer during the event.
The main anime staff, including director Haruo Sotozaki, character designer Akira Matsushima, and composers Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina, will return to work on the movies. The voice cast features a stellar lineup, including Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro), Akari Kito (Nezuko), and Mamoru Miyano (Doma), among many others.
The Demon Slayer franchise has been a massive success since the manga, written by Koyoharu Gotoge, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. It spans 23 volumes and has inspired spin-offs in both manga and light novel formats. The anime began with its first season in 2019 and was followed by the record-breaking Mugen Train movie in 2020. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 continued to build on the series' success, with the latest season wrapping up in June 2024.
With the Infinity Castle Arc being one of the manga's most intense and emotional storylines, fans can look forward to a cinematic experience that lives up to the franchise’s legacy.
