Dandadan Manga Goes on Hiatus This Winter!
Fans of Dandadan, Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit manga, were surprised by the sudden announcement of a hiatus following the release of Chapter 182. The series, which has been a fan-favorite since its debut, recently gained even more popularity with its anime adaptation as part of the Fall 2024 lineup. The first season, which leaves viewers in the middle of the intense Cursed House Arc, has set the stage for the highly anticipated second season, slated to premiere in Summer 2025.
The manga, however, has temporarily paused, with Chapter 183 scheduled to release on February 25, 2025. While no official reason has been given for the hiatus, it’s possible that Tatsu is taking time to rest or refine his craft.
What’s Happening in the Story?
The latest arc of Dandadan has brought plenty of suspense and action. Momo has been struggling with the effects of her encounter with the terrifying Danmanra, which has left her unable to return to her normal size.
Her friends are working tirelessly to protect her, but things take a darker turn when Kouki Yukishiro, a female student, attacks Momo with a knife in an attempt to steal her powers. Kouki is being blackmailed by Count Saint-Germain, the series’ overarching villain.
Despite the initial confrontation, Momo and her friends manage to turn Kouki into an ally. Meanwhile, Granny Seiko, Momo’s grandmother, is searching relentlessly for a way to help her return to normal.
Chapter 182 Recap
In the most recent chapter, Granny Seiko returns home and prepares to leave with Momo and Vamola to find a solution. The other kids ask to join them, and Zuma brings along an elderly man who had been trapped in the Danmanra since he was in seventh grade. Having escaped, the man is now aging at an accelerated rate due to his time in the otherworldly realm.
At the same time, Kinta rushes in to inform the group that they’ve located Kouki’s teacher. Aira and Okarun set out to confront the teacher and uncover the mystery behind their involvement. However, the chapter ends on a cliffhanger as Kouki finds herself in danger once again.
While the hiatus may be disappointing for fans, Dandadan is set to return stronger than ever. The intense storylines, compelling characters, and Tatsu’s creative brilliance promise an exciting continuation when the series resumes on February 25, 2025.
