Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Premieres on January 3rd!

Classroom of the Elite fans, get ready for the excitement as the highly-anticipated third season is set to premiere on January 3! The announcement comes from Kadokawa, and the anime will kick off on the AT-X channel at 10:30 p.m. (8:30 a.m. EDT). Following the initial broadcast, fans can catch it on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and KBS Kyoto.

Originally scheduled for a 2023 premiere, the release was delayed due to "various circumstances." Thankfully, Crunchyroll will be streaming the season simultaneously with its Japanese broadcast, so fans worldwide can stay up to date.

For those unfamiliar, the second season aired in July 2022, streamed by Crunchyroll under the title Classroom of the Elite II. The directors from the first season, Seiji Kishi and Hiroyuki Hashimoto, returned as chief directors, ensuring a seamless continuation. Yoshihito Nishōji is the credited director at Lerche, with Hayato Kazano overseeing the series scripts and Kazuaki Morita returning for character design.

The original story, adapted from the light novel series published by Kadokawa since May 2015, follows Kiyotaka Ayanokoji at Tokyo Koudo Ikusei Senior High School. Despite the school's reputation for 100% college or employment placement, Ayanokoji finds himself in Class 1-D, known for its troublesome students. The school operates on a unique points system, awarding students with a cash value, and encourages a laissez-faire policy during classes.

Crunchyroll describes the first season's plot, where Ayanokoji, Horikita, and Class D students uncover the truth behind the school's system. The second and third seasons will continue the narrative, adapting the original light novel's complete first-year-student arc.
