Boruto Season 2 Officially Announced – Here’s What to Expect
After a long break, Studio Pierrot has quietly confirmed that Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is returning with a second season!
While the studio has been busy bringing the epic Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc to life, Boruto fans have been waiting patiently for updates. And now, that patience has paid off. On Pierrot’s official website, a small but exciting update was posted: “A second part has been confirmed.” It might have been easy to miss, but it’s a big deal for fans of the Naruto universe.
What’s Happening in the Story?
When Boruto: Naruto Next Generations ended in 2023, a lot had already changed in the ninja world. Naruto lost Kurama (the Nine-Tailed Fox), and Jigen, the powerful villain from the Kara Organization, was finally defeated. But his follower, Code, is still out there, more dangerous than ever.
And he’s not the only threat. The anime had just introduced two mysterious siblings, Eida and Daemon, who have strange and powerful abilities. Season 2 is expected to focus on their growing role and the chaos they bring.
Right now, the manga has already moved on to a sequel called Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, but the anime still has to catch up with some important events. So while we don’t know for sure if Season 2 will dive straight into Two Blue Vortex, it’s likely we’ll get there eventually.
Why the Long Wait?
One reason for the delay is Studio Pierrot’s shift to a seasonal production style. Inspired by the success of Demon Slayer, which set a new standard for quality and pacing, Pierrot decided to take more time to ensure top-tier animation. Studio President Michiyuki Honma even said that Demon Slayer changed how the entire industry thinks about anime production.
So while there’s no official release date yet for Boruto Season 2, fans can expect a higher-quality anime when it does arrive. And once Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War finishes its final batch of episodes, more updates will likely follow.
