Calling all soccer anime fans! Get ready for more intense training and ego clashes because Blue Lock is returning for a second season this October!
The official account for the Blue Lock anime just revealed the exciting news, along with a special illustration by the series artist Yusuke Nomura.
Remember the first season that premiered in October 2022? It kept us on the edge of our seats for 24 episodes, streaming on Crunchyroll. Well, it looks like the story isn't over yet!
Recap
Blue Lock is an anime based on a popular soccer manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura.
The story follows a group of talented young soccer players competing in a special training program with one goal: to become Japan's ultimate striker.
The first season was all about intense training, high stakes, and clashing egos as the players pushed each other to the limit.
Now, with the second season on the horizon, we can expect even more drama, competition, and hopefully, some major breakthroughs for our aspiring strikers.
Speaking of breakthroughs, did you know there's also a Blue Lock movie out there? It's called "Blue Lock -Episode Nagi-" and focuses on the character Seishiro Nagi before he entered the Blue Lock program. The movie did really well in Japan and is actually coming to North America this June 28th!
That's not all! If you haven't gotten your hands on the original Blue Lock manga yet, there's good news! The spinoff manga focusing on Nagi is getting an English release later this year, so you can dive deeper into his story.
So, mark your calendars for October because Blue Lock season 2 is coming to heat things up on the soccer field (and probably the internet) once again!
Legit the best manga/anime out there, and I refuse to hear otherwise 😂
