Avex Pictures Establishes New Animation Business
Avex Pictures will serve as the holdings company for its new animation business Avex Animation Labels
Avex Pictures, a media company, recently announced a comprehensive restructuring plan. The key highlight of this reorganization is establishing a new animation business entity called Avex Animation Labels, scheduled to launch on August 1st.
Avex operates as a holding company overseeing principal subsidiaries like Avex Entertainment, Avex Pictures, and Avex Digital. The company plans to create two intermediate holding companies dedicated to managing the music and video sectors separately to enhance efficiency.
Avex Pictures will become the intermediate holding company responsible for the video business. Avex Animation Labels will assume control of the animation division. At the same time, Avex Film Labels will oversee the live-action sector, which was previously under Avex Pictures' supervision. Hideo Katsumata will continue serving as the CEO of Avex Pictures. The two new companies will be established on August 1st, with an initial capital of 100 million yen (equivalent to approximately US$693,000).
Ryō Ōyama, an executive officer at Avex Pictures, will take on the role of representative director at Avex Animation Labels. Tomokazu Iizumi will serve as the director, and Atsuhiko Miyakoshi will assume the executive officer position in the new company.
Nobuhiro Maeno, also a director at Avex Pictures, will become the representative director of Avex Film Labels. At the same time, Tsuyoshi Nishiyama will be appointed executive officer.
Avex Entertainment will serve as the intermediate holding company for the music business. In addition to Avex Management, newly established operating companies like Avex Music Creative, Avex Live Creative, and Avex Alliance & Partners will operate as subsidiaries under avex entertainment's supervision.
